Katherine Ann Moss, known globally as Kate Moss, was born on January 16, 1974, in Croydon, London, England. Raised by her mother, Linda Shepherd, a barmaid, and her father, Peter Moss, a travel agent, Kate grew up in the Addiscombe area of South London. She attended Ridgeway Primary School and later Riddlesdown Collegiate. At the age of 14, during a trip through JFK Airport in New York, she was discovered by Sarah Doukas, founder of Storm Model Management, marking the beginning of her modeling career.

Kate Moss rose to prominence in the early 1990s, challenging the prevailing standards of beauty in the fashion industry. Personal Life

Kate Moss's personal life has often been in the public eye. She has a daughter, Lila Grace Moss Hack, born in 2002, with former partner Jefferson Hack. Moss has been involved in high-profile relationships, including with actor Johnny Depp and musician Pete Doherty. In 2011, she married Jamie Hince, guitarist of The Kills; the couple separated in 2015. Since then, she has been in a relationship with photographer Nikolai von Bismarck.
